SPLC hosts "Party at the Polls" at Alabama State
Students will recreate a historic campus march, with music, food and advocacy tables aimed at energizing voters beyond the ballot box.

The Southern Poverty Law Center announced it will host “Party at the Polls” on Tuesday, November 3, at Alabama State University from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. CDT. ASU students are planning to recreate the North Carolina A&T student march across campus to get others out to vote.
The march will start from the “Party at the Polls” event and will happen while CEO Ryan Haygood is on campus.
The event will take place on ASU’s campus near the John Garrick Hardy Student Center at 915 S. Jackson St., Montgomery, Alabama.
The SPLC will have a live DJ, free food and an “I Voted” photo booth so voters can show off stickers.
“Stop by the student organization tables to find ways to advocate for the issues you care about 365 days a year, not just at the ballot box. And grab some free swag while you’re there! Bring a friend, meet the community, and let’s make it count,” the SPLC’s press release concluded.
