ALGOP launches new initiative to engage young voters
Youth Captains across Alabama will work with county GOP leaders to recruit conservatives and gain firsthand grassroots political experience.
The Alabama Republican Party announced the launch of Project Future Generation, a new statewide initiative aimed at engaging young Alabamians, introducing them to the political process and creating opportunities for them to become involved with the Republican Party at the local level.
Conservative influencer Brilyn Hollyhand will help lead the initiative's public-facing efforts, working with ALGOP to reach and engage young Republicans across the state.
“Project Future Generation is about bringing young conservatives together and giving them a real opportunity to get involved,” Hollyhand said. “Young people have the ideas, energy and passion to make a difference, and I’m excited to work with ALGOP to give them the tools and opportunities to do just that.”
The initiative is intended to connect young Alabamians with the Republican Party through outreach, engagement and direct involvement in local party activities.
At the center of Project Future Generation is a statewide network of Youth Captains who will work alongside county Republican parties. The captains will work with county chairmen, attend local party meetings and help recruit and engage other young conservatives in their communities.
ALGOP said the program is designed to give Youth Captains firsthand experience in grassroots politics and a role in local party activities.
“Project Future Generation is about making sure we are not only focused on the elections in front of us, but also on the future of our Party,” ALGOP Chairman Scott Stadthagen said. “There are young people all across Alabama who believe in conservative values and want to make a difference, but sometimes they just need someone to open the door and give them a place to get involved. We want to bring them in, connect them with the incredible leaders we already have in our county parties and give them an opportunity to learn, serve and grow. If we invest in the next generation now, I have no doubt the Party will remain strong in Alabama for years to come.”
