By Bill Britt Alabama Political Reporter Today, the State of Alabama was notified by the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. They found that 12 State Senate and House Districts will need to be redrawn before the 2018 General Elections while House seats will not. A three-judge panel ruled in favor of Alabama Black Legislative Caucus in their challenge of the Constitutionality of the GOP's 2012 redistricting. The panel comprised of Circuit Judge William H. Pryor, Chief District Judge W. Keith Watkins, and District Judge Myron H. Thompson found in favor of the State in regards to other Districts. The panel enjoined the State from using the disputed 3 Senate and 9 House Districts in future elections. These Districts will face redistricting, unless the State appeals the Eleventh Circuit’s ruling to the US Supreme Court. The following are Districts enjoined by the Eleventh Circuit: Senate District 20 Senate District 26 Senate District 28 House District 32 House District 53 House District 54 House District 70 House District 71 House District 77 House District 82 House District 85 House District 99
